Blog Post #6
1. My experience with blogging has been good. I like how it's so easy to post on Blogger. I wish there was a way to make it more colorful instead of just having a blank white paper. I have learned how to work this website. I think it is a lot like Google Docs and I used Docs all throughout high school so I have found it pretty easy to work with.
2. A tool that I may use when teaching is Google Classroom. I used Google Classroom in middle school. It shows you all of your classes and it is easy to access for students. You are able to have a code for the classroom so only your students can join it. You can post assignments, and your students will be able to submit them through Google Classroom. When I grade assignments, I am able to see where all of them are instead of having assignments on paper and risk losing them. I really liked using Google Classroom in middle school. We used it the most when we were quarantined and had to do school from home.
3. I liked using the Generative AI. It worked for the first time for me. I just asked it to create a lesson plan for a specific grade, subject, and topic. It gave it right to me and was very detailed with lots of bullet points. I don't think it would have worked as well if I wasn't as specific as I was. Next time I would be more specific and see if it gives me more details.
4. I envision using Generative AI in my teaching because I can ask it for ideas for activities or lesson plans. I envision myself teaching in a younger class, so I would need lots of ideas on how to decorate the classroom. I could ask AI for ways to include all of my students' names around the classroom or ways for name tags on their desks. I could ask for lesson plan ideas if I am stuck on the best way how to teach the students. To address ethical concerns, I would not let my students use AI, and I would only use it for ideas.
I agree with the fact that blogger is so user friendly! It makes submitting assignments so easy
ReplyDeleteHi Audrey!! I love the layout of your blog! It is very clean and organized. I had never thought about asking AI for ways to decorate the classroom, I think that is a great idea! Like you, I also want to teach in an elementary setting, and I think making the classroom decor fun and engaging is super important. I think AI could be a great source to come up with ideas for example of different anchor charts that could be colorful and cute but also have key topics that students can refer to.
