I found a standard that says, "Use appropriate voice and tone when speaking or writing." This is important in the classroom because when using the right tone, students can understand an effective way to communicate. This will teach young kids to be able to switch to different tones when they need to. They will need to know what different tones to use when speaking to friends, teachers, or parents. Using different tones and voices can help students build good relations. It makes it easier to avoid misunderstandings between the children and the teachers. The students will maybe take into consideration their classmate's feelings and what another person feels like when expressing thoughts or speaking. This standard lays a foundation for wholesome academic and social achievements. I do feel prepared to implement this standard based on my current skill level because I have been babysitting for a couple of years and I feel that I have helped the young kids I babysit this standard. If they do not speak in an appropriate tone, I will help them understand why it is not appropriate and help them understand what tone is appropriate.

While working on my newsletter, I started to learn my way around Word better. I had never used any of the Microsoft apps until I got to FSU. I think I could improve my newsletter by maybe using more fonts and colors. The skills I learned can be used in the future because now I know how to make a newsletter on Word. I can use what I learned to send out the newsletters I make as a teacher.

  1. Hi Audrey! Thank you for sharing a picture of your newsletter it's very cute! I love how you added heart borders, the combination of pink and red can never go wrong. For future projects, I would recommend making the title more big and eye-catching to motivate students and parents to read it. Everything else looks great, and the idea of a field trip sounds exciting.
